Արգենտինական ֆուտբոլի լեգենդ Դիեգո Մարադոնան դժգոհել է Մեսսիից:
«Ես հիասթափված եմ Լեո Մեսսիի այս քայլից` չմասնակցել ՖԻՖԱ տարվա լավագույնների պարգևատրման արարողությանը: Տանը նստելով` հեռուստացույցի դիմաց, չես կարող պայքարել: Չեմ կարող ասել, թե ինչու «Բարսելոնա»-ն ներկա չէր, բայց այն կարծիքին եմ, որ Ցյուրիխում լինելով՝ նա առավել լավ կպայքարեր»,-«Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` ասել է Մարադոնան:
Ֆուտբոլի միջազգային ֆեդերացիան տարվա լավագույն ֆուտբոլիստ ճանաչեց Պորտուգալիայի ազգային թիմի և Մադրիդի «Ռեալ»-ի հարձակվող Կրիշտիանու Ռոնալդուին: ՖԻՖԱ-ն լավագույն ֆուտբոլիստուհի ճանաչեց ԱՄՆ հավաքականի անդամ Կարլի Լոյդին: Պուշկաշի մրցանակին` լավագույն գոլի մրցանակին, արժանացավ մալայզիական սուպերլիգայում հանդես եկող Մոդ Ֆաիզ Սուբային: ՖԻՖԱ-ն տարվա լավագույն մարզչի կոչմանն արժանացրեց անգլիական «Լեսթեր սիթի»-ի գլխավոր մարզիչ Կլաուդիո Ռանիերին: «Արդար խաղի» մրցանակին արժանացավ կոլումբիական «Աթլետիկո Նացիոնալ ը»: Տարվա լավագույն թիմի կազմում ընդգրկվեցին Մանուել Նոյերը, Դանի Ալվեսը, Խերարդ Պիկեն, Սերխիո Ռամոսը, Մարսելոն, Լուկա Մոդրիչը, Թոնի Կրոսը, Անդրես Ինիեստան, Մեսսին, Լուիս Սուարեսը և Ռոնալդուն: ՖԻՖԱ-ի կողմից այս տարի առաջին անգամ հանձնվեց նաև լավագույն երկրպագուների մրցանակը, որին արժանացան «Լիվերպուլ»-ի և Դորտմունդի «Բորուսիա»-ի երկրպագուները:
