Ժնեւում մեկնարկել են Կիպրոսի հարցով բանակցությունները

Կիպրոսի նախագահ Նիկոս Անաստասիադիսը ու Հյուսիսային Կիպրոսի չճանաչված թուրքական հանրապետության առաջնորդ Մուստաֆա Ակինչին Ժնեւ են ժամանել ՝ կիպրյան պետությունների միավորման մասին բանակցությունների, հայտնում է DW–ն։
Նախատեսվում է, որ ՄԱԿ հովանո ներքո անցնող բանակցությունները երեք օր կշարունակվեն։ Առաջընթացի դեպքում հունվարի 12-ին բանակցություններին կմիանան նաեւ երաշխավոր պետությունները ՝ Հունաստանը, Թուրքիան ու Մեծ Բրիտանիան։ ԿԻպրոսի միավորման մասին վերջին բանակցությունները կայացել էին 2016-ի նոյեմբերի վերջին, բայց դրանք որոշակի արդյունք չէին տվել։ Կողմերը չէին կարողացել հաղթահարել տարածքային հարցի շուրջ տարաձայնությունները։
ԿԻպրոսը բաժանվել է 1974-ին Թուրքիայի զինված ներխուժումից հետո։ Կղզու 37 տոկոսը օկուպացվել է ու 1983-ին այնտեղ հռչակվել է Հյուսիսային Կիպրոսի թուրքական հանրապետություն։ Այն ճանաչել է միայն Անկարան։ 2004-ին ԵՄ անդամ է դարձել Կիպրոսի հանրապետությունը, որի բնակիչները կիպրացի հույներ են։ Կիպրոսի իշխանությունները 2005-ից սկսած արգելափակում են ԵՄ-ին Թուրքիայի անդամակցության մասին ԵՄ-ի ու Անկարայի բանակցությունները։
