Ամերիկյան Տեխաս նահանգից ամուսնական զույգը դատի է տվել Apple ընկերությանը՝ մեղադրելով նրան իրենց հնգամյա դստեր մահվան համար. այս մասին հաղորդում է ABC հեռուստաալիքը:
Ըստ հեռուստաալիքի տվյալների՝ վթարը տեղի է ունեցել 2014թ-ի դեկտեմբերին Դալլաս քաղաքի մոտ: Ջեյմս և Բեթանի Մոդիզեթները երկու դուստրերի հետ միասին ավտոմեքենայով ընթացել են մայրուղիով և նկատելով իրականացող ոստիկանական օպերացիան՝ կանգնել են: Նրանց ետևից ընթացող վարորդը չի նկատել, որ նրանք կանգնել են, քանի որ վարելու ընթացքում խոսել են FaceTime հավելվածով ու մեծ արագությամբ բախվել է ավտոմեքենային: Բախման հետևանքով Մոդիզեթների ողջ ընտանիքը լուրջ մարմնական վնասվածքներ է ստացել, իսկ դուստրերից մեկին չի հաջողվել ողջ մնալ:
Ընտանիքը դիմել է Կալիֆոռնիայի Գերագույն դատարան ՝ մեղադրելով Apple-ին, որ իր սարքավորումների վրա ավելի անվտանգ հավելված չի տեղադրել, որը կարգելափակվեր արագ վարելու ընթացքում:
