Խոհանոցից դեպի քաղաքականություն և հակառակը: Կանանց ակտիվ հասարակական քաղաքական կյանքին ներգրավելու հենց այս ձևաչափն է այսօր դառնում ակտուալ: «Միասնություն» համազգային շարժման կողմից կազմակերպված «Հայ հասարակության մենթալ կարծրատիպերը և կանանց քաղաքական մասնակցությունը» խորագրով հերթական կլոր սեղան-քննարկման ժամանակ վեր հանվեցին ոլորտի առաջնային խնդիրները:
Քննարկման բանախոսներից՝ «Կինը և քաղաքականությունը» թերթի և Womennet.am կայքի գլխավոր խմբագիր Թամարա Հովնաթանյանն, առանձնացրեց այն խնդիրները, որոնք բխում են Ընտրական օրենսգրքից և լուծումներն էլ պայմանավորված են օրենքների համապատասխան փոփոխություններով:
Ըստ Հովնաթանյանի՝ մեր օրենսդրությունը չի արգելում կանանց՝ լինել քաղաքականապես ակտիվ: Ընտրական իրավունքի մակարդակում մենք խնդիր չունենք, բայց երբեք լիարժեք չենք օգտվել մեր այդ իրավունքից: Խոսելով գենդերային քվոտավորման մասին՝ բանախոսը նշեց, որ բուռն պայքարի շնորհիվ ընտրական օրենսգրքում ամրագրված է 30-70 տոկոս համամասնությունը և 2030 թ.-ին հասնելու են 50-50-ի:
Թամար Հովնաթանյանն Ընտրական օրենսգրքում առկա 25-75 քվոտավորմամբ ընտրության անցկացման մեկ դրական օրինակ համարեց Գյումրիում և Վանաձորում անցկացված ընտրությունները. «Այս ընտրություներում կանանց և տղամարդկանց համամասնությունն արդարացված էր, որովհետև փակ ցուցակներ էին և չկար ինքնաբացարկի հնարավորություն»:
Ամփոփելով իր ելույթը՝ Թամարա Հովնաթանյանը հայտարարեց, որ այն քայլերը, որոնք արվում են Հայաստանում գենդերային հավասարության պահպանման ուղղությամբ, քիչ են. «Հայաստանի նման երկրում, որտեղ կանայք ունեն բարձր պոտենցիալ, խորհրդարանում ունենալ կանանց 10-12 տոկոս ներգրավվածություն, մեղմ ասած, ամոթալի է, մինչդեռ մեր հարևան Վրաստանում կանանց ներգրավվածության համար խորհրդարանը խրախուսվոււմ է»:
