 Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության թեժացումը լուրջ վտանգ կդառնա ողջ Հարավային Կովկասի տարածաշրջանի համար:  Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին ռուսական Lenta.ru-ին տված հարցազրույցում ասել է ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Վիգեն Սարգսյանը:

Պատասխանելով հարցին, թե որքանով է հնարավոր տարածաշրջանում ռազմական գործողությունների վերսկսումը` Սարգսյանն ասել է. «Ադրբեջանի հետ զինված հակամարտության վերսկսումը հնարավոր է: 1994 թվականին եռակողմ ձևաչափով (Հայաստան, Ադրբեջան, Լեռնային Ղարաբաղ) ստորագրվել է համաձայնագիր հրադադարի վերաբերյալ: Ցավոք, 1994 թվականից Բաքուն արդեն ավելի քան 20 տարվա ընթացքում տորպեդահարում է խաղաղության գործընթացը: Ավելին, հետևողականորեն ձախողվում են հակամարտության կարգավորման ուղիներ փնտրող միջազգային հանրության, ի դեմս Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահնե րի, բոլոր ջանքերը»:

Պաշտպանության նախարարն ընդգծել է, որ ընթացիկ տարվա ապրիլին Ադրբեջանը ձեռնարկեց լայնամասշտաբ ռազմական արկածախնդրություն Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի դեմ, որը կատարյալ ֆիասկո ապրեց: «Մենք կառուցում ենք մեր աշխատանքը ռազմական գործողությունների վերսկսման հավանականության կանխավարկածով: Ընդ որում, բացարձակապես ակնհայտ է, որ Հայաստանին և տարածաշրջանի երկրներին ձեռնտու չէ հակամարտության հնարավոր լարումը: Լինելով Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Հանրապետության անվտանգության երաշխավորը` Երևանը ստիպված կլինի ներգրավվել բախման մեջ, եթե այդպիսին լինի: Միա ժամանակ հասկանալի է, որ պատերազմի վերսկսումը լրջագույն սպառնալիք կդառնա ողջ Հարավային Կովկասի համար»,- հայտարարել է Վիգեն Սարգսյանը:
