«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

2016 թ.–ի ապրիլյան պատերազմը բավականին ցավալի ու անդառնալի հետևանքների պատճառ հանդիսանալուց բացի օգնեց բացահայտել նաև երկրի պաշտպանական համակարգում առկա շատ ու շատ թերություններ: Դրանց մասին երկար տարիներ լռել են թե՛ ժամկետային զինծառայողները և թե՛ ոլորտի միջին ու բարձր օղակների պատասխանատուները: Ու եթե բանակում առկա թերությունների ու բացթողումների մասին չխոսելը առաջինների դեպքում ինչ–որ տեղ հասկանալի է, ապա կառույցի ղեկավարների լռությունը կամ բացթողմուների մասին նրանց անտեղյակությունը կարելի է հանցավոր անտարբերություն համարել: Իսկ ապրիլյան քառօրյան ցույց տվեց, որ Հայոց բանակում առկա «հիվանդությունները» երկար տարիներ կուտակվելով ու չբուժվելով, հասցրել են համակարգի ներսում բավականին խորը խոցեր առաջացնել, ինչի պատճառով էլ մի ողջ երկրի ու ժողովրդի անվտանգության հարցը կարող էր հարցականի տակ դրվել: 
Ապրիլյան դեպքերից հետո անցել է արդեն ութ ամիս, որը բավականին երկար ժամանակ է անցյալից դասեր քաղելու և ի հայտ եկած թերությունները վերացնելու համար: Այսօր արդյոք կարելի՞ է հանգիստ շունչ քաշել և համարել, որ բանակում առկա բոլոր թերությունները մնացել են հետևում, թե՞ դրանք դեռևս շարունակում են սպառնալիք մնալ թե՛ երկրի և թե՛ հասարակության համար: Հետախուզադիվերսիոն ջոկատի հիմնադիր–հրամանատար Վովա Վարդանովը այս հարցի մասին «Փաստի» հետ զրույցում նշեց, որ իր դիտարկմամբ նախկին թերություններն արդեն վերացվել են, սակայն դեռ չի կարելի ասել, որ ամեն ինչ հրաշալի է: 
«Բայց, այստեղ մի բայց կա: Պատերազմն այնպիսի երևույթ է, որը մշտապես էլ զարգանալու միտում ունի: Եվ պետք չէ մտածել, որ հակառակորդն այն աստիճանի հիմար է, որ հարձակման նախապատրաստվելու դեպքում կարող է նախորդ սցենարը կրկնել: Մենք փակեցինք այն բաց «պատուհանները», որոնք թուրքը բացեց: Եվ այդ «պատուհաններից» նրանք այլևս չեն կարող մտնել, բայց ո՞վ գիտի, գուցե այլ «դռներ» կան, որոնք դեռ պետք է փակել»,– ասաց Վ. Վարդանովը:
Ճշտող հարցին, թե իրականում շատ են բանակում առկա բաց «դռները», փորձառու հետախույզն ասաց, որ դրանք թերություններ են, որոնցից հակառակորդը կարող է օգտվել: 
«Այսօրվա խնդիրն այն է, որ կարողանանք բոլոր «դռները» փակ ու անվտանգ պահել: Եվ չի կարելի երբեք հանգիստ շունչ քաշել ու ասել բանակում այլևս խնդիրներ չկան: Ես համոզված եմ, որ թե՛ ես, թե՛ իմ ողջ ազգը պատրաստվում է երկար ապրել, ուստի մեզ հանգիստ ապրել պարզապես չի կարելի»,– ասում է Վ. Վարդանովը:
Նա նաև համակարծիք չէ, որ ապրիլյան դեպքերը ձևակերպվում են որպես ապրիլյան պատերազմ: Հետախույզի կարծիքով՝ պատերազմը շարունակվում է արդեն 27 տարի, իսկ ապրիլյան դեպքերն այդ երկարատև պատերազմի ակտիվ փուլերից մեկն էր միայն: Խոսելով պաշտպանական համակարգերին վերաբերող հարցերը քաղաքականացնելու մասին, Վ. Վարդանովն ասաց, որ առհասարակ պետք չէ ընդհանուր գնահատականներ հնչեցնել համակարգում առկա թերությունների մասին, և այն օգտագործել քաղաքական դիվիդենտներ շահելու համար: Դրա փոխարեն հասարակությունը պետք է կարողանա բացահայտել և դատի տալ այն անհատներին, որոնց պատճառով տուժում է պաշտպանական ողջ համակարգը:
