Եվրոպացի մի խումբ գիտնականներ պնդում են , որ հաճախ պետք է թարմ մրգերը և մրգահյութերը փոխարինել չոր մրգերով: Պետք չէ չարաշահել մրգային հյութերը, քանի որ այնտեղ չափազանց շատ է շաքարի պարունակությունը:
Հետազոտման ընթացքում պարզվել է, որ չոր մրգերը ոչ միայն իրենց բաղադրությամբ չեն տարբերվում թարմ մրգերից, այլ նաև օժտված են շատ օգտակար հատկություններով: Դիետոլոգների միջազգային ասոցիացիայի անդամների մի մասը կողմնակից են այս վարկածին:
Չոր միրգը հանդիսանում է նյութափոխանակման խախտման կանխարգելիչ միջոցներից ոչ պակաս արդյունավետ միջոցը:
Դրանից բացի, այն նվազեցնում է քաղցկեղով և սիրտ-անոթային համակարգի հիվանդություներով հիվանդանալու ռիսկը:
