 ՌԴ նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը հայտարարել Է, որ Ճապոնիայի վարչապետ Սինձո Աբեի հետ պայմանավորվել Է ամեն ինչ անել՝ ապահովելու Հարավային Կուրիլների նախկին ճապոնացի բնակիչների մուտքը կղզիներ, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը:

«Պարոն վարչապետը երեկ դեռ առ դեմ զրույցի ընթացքում մեծ ուշադրություն դարձրեց դրան, ինձ փոխանցեց Ճապոնիայի այն քաղաքացիների նամակները, որոնք ձգտում են փոխգործակցել այդ կղզիների ռուսաստանցի քաղաքացիների հետ»,-ասել Է նա Տոկիոյում Աբեի հետ բանակցությունների արդյունքներին նվիրված մամուլի ասուլիսում: 

«Մենք պայմանավորվեցինք, որ ամեն ինչ կանենք, որպեսզի առավելագույնս ապահովենք նրանց ազատ մուտքը նույնիսկ այն շրջաններ, որոնք մինչ այժմ փակ են եղել նրանց համար»,-հավելել Է ռուսական պետության ղեկավարը:

Պուտինը նաեւ նշել Է, որ առաջարկել Է սահմանել Սախալինի մարզի եւ Հոկայդո կղզու բնակիչների փոխադարձ ուղեւորությունների ռեժիմ:

ՌԴ նախագահը Ճապոնիայի հետ հաշտության պայմանագրի բացակայությունը համարել Է ժամանակավրիպություն: Նրա խոսքով՝ ինքն ակնկալում Է, որ Կուրիլներում համագործակցությունը կնպաստի հաշտության պայմանագրի շուրջ հետագա երկխոսության համար նպաստավոր մթնոլորտի հաստատմանը:

«Ինչպես հայտնի Է, հաշտության պայմանագրի հարցը քննարկվում Է արդեն ավելի քան 70 տարի: Պարզամտություն կլիներ ենթադրել, որ մենք կարող ենք միանգամից կարգավորել այն: Բայց այնպիսի լուծում փնտրելը, որը կհամապատասխաներ թե՛ Ռուսաստանի, թե՛ Ճապոնիայի ռազմավարական շահերին, եւ կընդունվեր երկու երկրների ժողովուրդների կողմից, անտարակույս, անհրաժեշտ Է»,-հայտարարել Է Պուտինը՝ ամփոփելով Աբեի հետ կայացած բանակցությունների արդյունքները, հաղորդել Է «Ինտերֆաքս»-ը:
