Աշխարհի մի խումբ ամենահարուստ մարդիկ, որոնց թվում Է Microsoft կորպորացիայի հիմնադիր Բիլ Գեյթսը, դեկտեմբերի 11-ին հայտարարել են Էկոլոգիապես մաքուր Էներգիայի արտադրության բնագավառում տեխնոլոգիաների զարգացման նախագծերի ֆինանսավորման համար 1 մլրդ դոլար ծավալով ներդրումային հիմնադրամ ստեղծելու մասին, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով Bloomberg գործակալությանը:

Գործակալության հաղորդագրության համաձայն, Dubbed Breakthrough Energy Ventures անվանումն ստացած հիմնադրամի ներդրողների թվում են՝ Amazon կորպորացիայի հիմնադիր եւ տնօրեն Ջեֆ Բեզոսը, Virgin Group հոլդինգի սեփականատեր Ռիչարդ Բրենսթոնը, Alibaba առցանց-ռիթեյլերի տնօրենների խորհրդի նախագահ Ջեկ Ման եւ Սաուդյան Արաբիայի ալ Վալիդ բեն Թալյալ արքայազը: 

«Ինձ համար պատիվ Է այս ներդրողների հետ աշխատել հիմնարար հետազոտություններում շուկայական ներդրման համար հզոր բազայի ձեւավորման վրա,-նշել Է Գեյթսը հիմնադրամի ստեղծման վերաբերյալ հայտարարության մեջ:-Մեր խնդիրն այնպիսի ընկերությունների ստեղծումն Է, որոնք կօգնեն աշխարհին տալ Էներգիայի հուսալի, հասանելի ու Էկոլոգիապես մաքուր սերունդ»: 

Bloomberg-ը հայտնում Է, որ հիմնադրամի նպատակը «միջոցների ներդրումն Է Էներգետիկական տեխնոլոգիաների զարգացման ռիսկային երկարաժամկետ նախագծերում, որոնք թույլ կտան զգալիորեն կրճատել ջերմոցային գազերի արտանետումները մթնոլորտ», հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
