Եթե մեկ տարի առաջ Ստյոպա Սաֆարյանը մեծ քաղաքականություն վերադառնալու մասին չէր էլ մտածում, ապա ներկայում նման հնարավորություն դիտարկում է, սակայն իր վերադարձը չի կապում «Ժառանգություն» կուսակցության հետ:
 
«Այն դաշտում, որտեղ որ հայտնվել է «Ժառանգություն» կուսակցությունը, վստահ կարող եմ ասել, որ իրենց քաղաքական կապիտալը չի ավելացել: Բացի այդ, եթե կուսակցությունը մեկուկես տարի դառնում է սկզբում ԲՀԿ–ի սպասարկողը, հետո՝ «Հիմնադիր խորհրդարանի» օրակարգի սպասարկողը, ապա պետք է նայել, թե դրա արդյունքում «Ժառանգությունը» ինչ է ստեղծել: Եթե կուսակցությունը երկար ժամանակ իր սեփական օրակարգը չի իրացնում և այլ քաղաքական ուժերի օժանդակ կամ սպասարկող ուժի դերում է հանդես գալիս, այդ դեպքում կուսակցության շանսերն էլ պետք է բնականաբար փոխվեն»,– ասում է Ս. Սաֆարյանը:
 
Քաղաքագետի կարծիքով՝ ներկայում ըննդիմադիր ուժերի միավորման համար հրաշալի շրջան է, քանի որ ՀՀԿ–ի ներքին ու արտաքին քաղաքական բոլոր նախագծերը տապալվել են: Եվ այսպիսի պայմաններում եթե ընդդիմությունը ճիշտ քաղաքականություն վարի, ապա իշխանության հասնելու շանսերը կարող են աննախադեպ բարձր լինել: Ս. Սաֆարյանի դիտարկմամբ՝ բոլոր ուժային կենտրոնների հետ համահավասար հարաբերություններ կառուցելը պետք է լինի ընդդիմադիր քաղաքական ուժերի օրակարգային հարցը, և ոչ թե՝ այս կամ այն ուժային կենտրոնի հետ վասալային հարաբերություններ ստեղծելը: Իսկ այն, որ այս մեկ տարվա ընթացքում ընդդիմությանը չի հաջողվել միավորվել, ապա դա դեռ չի նշանակում, որ խորհրդարանական ընտրություններից առաջ նույնպես նրանց չի հաջողվի միավորվել:
 
«Դաշտն իդեալական է, իսկ ընտրազանգվածը սպասում է նոր քաղաքական խոսքի և, որպես քաղաքական տեխնոլոգիաների փորձագետ, նման իրավիճակներում չափազանց հեշտ է «տորնադո» անելը, որը շատ անհարմար իրավիճակի մեջ կարող է դնել իշխանությանը»,– ասում է Ս. Մաֆարյանը:
 
Իսկ ունե՞նք արդյոք «տորնադո» առաջացնելուն պատրաստ ընդդիմադիր ուժեր՝ հարցին Ս. Սաֆարյանն ասաց, որ խնդիրն այստեղ ասելիքը ճիշտ ձևակեպելու մեջ է, իսկ ընդդիմադիր ուժերը հասարակությանը դեռևս չեն ներկայացել որպես այլընտրանք առաջարկող ուժեր: Փոխարենը, ընդամենը եղել են իշխանության օրակարգի արձագանքողներ: Եվ այս պայմաններում ո՞ր ուժի հետ կնախընտրի համագործակցել հարցին նա պատասխանեց. «Եթե անգամ նման որոշում կայացնեմ, ապա դա կլինի լայն ընդդիմադիր դաշինքի տեսքով և այս կտրվածքով կարող եմ դիտարկել այն լայն համագործակցությունը, որը պետք է լինի արժեքային գաղափարախոսության դաշտում»:
