Հարավային Աֆրիկայում սկսվում են մարդու իմունային անբավարարության վիրուսի (ՄԻԱՎ-ի) դեմ նոր պատվաստանյութի փորձարկումները: Գիտնականները պնդում են, որ դա կարող Է բեկում դառնալ գիտության մեջ եւ օգնել հաղթելու անբուժելի վիրուսին, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով BBC-ին:
HVTN 702 պատվաստանյութի փորձարկմանը կմասնակցեն Հարավաֆրիկյան Հանրապետության (ՀԱՀ)՝ 18-ից մինչեւ 35 տարեկան 5,4 հազար բնակիչներ: Փորձարկումները կշարունակվեն շուրջ չորս տարի, իսկ գիտափորձի արդյունքները կներկայացվեն 2020 թվականին:
ՀԱՀ-ի իշխանությունները նշում են, որ այժմ երկրում օրական շուրջ հազար մարդ Է վարակվում այս հիվանդությամբ, իսկ 2014 թվականին վիրուսով ախտահարված Էր շուրջ 2,4 միլիոն մարդ:
Դեկտեմբերի 1-ին նշվում Է Ձեռքբերովի իմունային անբավարարության համախտանիշի (ՁԻԱՀ) դեմ պայքարի համաշխարհային օրը: Ինչպես հայտնել Է Առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպությունը (ԱՀԿ), ՄԻԱՎ-ը հիմնական գլոբալ խնդիրներից մեկն Է:
Այսօրվա դրությամբ այն խլել Է ավելի քան 35 միլիոն մարդկային կյանք: 2015 թվականին ՄԻԱՎ-ի հետ կապված հիվանդություններից ավելի քան 1 միլիոն մարդ Է մահացել ամբողջ աշխարհում:
2015 թվականին աշխարհում եղել Է մոտավորապես 37 միլիոն ՄԻԱՎ-վարակակիր: Առավել ախտահարված տարածաշրջանը Սահարայից հարավ ընկած Աֆրիկան Է:
