ԱՄՆ նորընտիր նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի կառավարման ընթացքում ռուս–ամերիկյան հարաբերությունները կունենան ավելի դրական տենդենց, Past.am-ի հետ զրույցում նման կարծիք հայտնեց քաղաքագետ Հայկ Մարտիրոսյանը:
 
«Հարաբերությունների լավացումը պայմանավորված կլինի նրանով, որ Թրամփը բազմիցս է արտահայտվել հօգուտ Ռուսաստանի հետ համագործակցության՝ հատկապես Սիրիայի հարցում: Նա սատարել է ՌԴ քաղաքականությունը Սիրիայում, որը բավական ողջախոհ մոտեցում է, քանի որ ահաբեկչության և իսլամիզմի դեմ պայքարում աշխարհի բոլոր քաղաքակիրթ պետությունների առաջնորդները պետք է միացյալ պայքարեն:
 
Նկատենք, որ նախագահ Օբամայի օրոք փորձում էին ԱՄՆ–ի շահերը բախումից հեռու պահել Սիրիայի տարածքում, սակայն կար կուլիսային որոշակի աշխատանք միմյանց դեմ: Թրամփի պարագայում անգամ դա կբացառվի»,– ասաց քաղաքագետը` հավելելով, որ ԱՄՆ ներկայիս նախագահը մեկ անգամ չէ, որ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի օգտին բավական դրական է արտահայտվել:
 
Ինչ մնում է Թրամփի նկատմամբ ռուսական կողմի վերաբերմունքին, ապա. «Օրինակ` Քլինթոնին ՌԴ–ում կտրուկ վատ էին արձագանքում, իսկ Թրամփին` կտրուկ լավ: Թրամփն ի հակադրություն Հիլարի Քլինթոնի, շատ կառուցողական մոտեցում ունի Ռուսաստանի հետ համագործակցության խնդիրներում: Նրա համար թիվ մեկ խնդիրն ահաբեկչության դեմ պայքարն է»:
 
Ինչպես նշեց քաղաքագետը, երկու գերտերությունների շահերը համընկնում են, խոսքն այս պարագայում Սիրիայի մասին է: Ռուսաստանն այս դեպքում կունենա քարտ–բլանշ օդային օպերացիաներն ավելի ակտիվացնելու, Արևելյան Հալեպն ահաբեկիչներից ազատագրելու, նաև Ռաքքան վերցնելու որոշակի օպերացիա իրականացնելու համար:
