Բարաք Օբաման ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահի կարգավիճակում նոյեմբերի 23-ին վերջին անգամ ներում Է շնորհել Գոհաբանության օրվա առթիվ Սպիտակ տուն բերված երկու հնդկահավերին: Այս համազգային տոնն ԱՄՆ-ում նշվում Է նոյեմբերի չորրորդ հինգշաբթի օրը, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը:
Սպիտակ տան Վարդերի պարտեզում կայացած հանդիսավոր-զվարճալի արարողությանը հունվարի 20-ին պետության ղեկավարի պաշտոնից հեռացող Օբամային ուղեկցում Էին նրա փոքրիկ քեռորդիները՝ Օստին եւ Էրոն Ռոբինսոնները: Այս անգամ ԱՄՆ-ի վարչակազմի ներկայիս ղեկավարի դուստրերը՝ 18-ամյա Մալիան եւ 15-ամյա Սաշան, չԷին եկել արարողությանը:
Երկու թռչունները Սպիտակ տուն Էր բերել Հնդկահավեր արտադրողների ազգային ասոցիացիայի ղեկավար Ջոն Ռիքսը: Երկու թռչուններն Էլ կշռում են յուրաքանչյուրը 18 կիլոգրամ:
Հնդկահավերին ներում շնորհելու խորհրդանշական արարողությունը ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահներից առաջինը 1863 թվականին անցկացրել Է Աբրահամ Լինկոլնը:
Ամերիկացիները Գոհաբանության օրն սկսել են նշել 1621 թվականին, երբ ներկայիս Մասաչուսեթսի նահանգի տարածքում առաջին նորաբնակները բերքահավաքից հետո որոշել են գովք մատուցել Աստծուն: Տոնական սեղան են հրավիրել հնդկացիներին, որոնք իրենց հետ բերել են անհայտ թռչուն: Նորաբնակաները դրան անվանել են հնդկահավ, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
