Արցախցի լեգենդար գեներալի մարտական ուղին անցել է ռուս-թուրքական, ռուս-պարսկական, 1912թ. Հայրենական պատերազմների միջով: Ռուսական բանակի հայ զորավար գեներալ-լեյտենանտ Վալերիան Մադաթովը եղել է Արցախում տեղակայված ռուսական զորքերի հրամանատար, այնուհետև Ղարաբաղի և հարակից շրջանների օկրուգային պետ: Նա իր գործունեության ընթացքում միշտ անսասան է պահել հայրենի արցախյան հողը, այն մաքրել է պարսիկ նվաճողներից, դիմակայել Դաղստանի լեռնականների արշավանքներին և աշխատելու ու երկիրը շենացնելու պայմաններ ապահովել հայ բնակչությանը:
Այսօր վերստին անկախություն ձեռք բերած արցախյան հողում տնտեսության ակտիվացումը, բիզնես նախագծերի իրականացումը ձեռք է բերել ռազմավարական նշանակություն: Այն մարդկանց կապում է հայրենի հողին, հավատ ներշնչում վաղվա օրվա հանդեպ, որ նվիրված աշխատանքով հնարավոր է ապրել ու շենացնել հարազատ երկիրը:
Այս գործում իր նշանակալից դերն ունի Ստեփանակերտի կոնյակի գործարանը, որի ջանքերով ստեղծվել են բարենպաստ պայմաններ վերականգնելու տնտեսության ավանդական ճյուղերը: Խաղողագործությունը նոր թափ է ստացել, ավելանում են մշակվող տարածքներն ու մթերվող բերքը:
Խաղողի բերքի գերակշիռ մասն ընդունում է Ստեփանակերտի կոնյակի գործարանը: Այն իր մեջ ներառում է Կարմիր շուկայի, Մարտունու և Ստեփանակերտի գինու գործարանները: Սակայն ընկերության հիմնական ռազմավարական ուղղությունը կոնյակագործությունն է: Կոնյակի սպիրտի հնեցումն ամբողջովին կատարվում է ավանդական եղանակով՝ կաղնու փայտից պատրաստված տակառներում, որտեղ կոնյակի սպիրտը ստանում է ինքնատիպ գույն, բույր, համ ու ոսկեգույն երանգ:
