ՀՀ մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպան Արման Թաթոյանը նոյեմբերի 22-ին Ժնեւում հանդիպումներ է ունեցել ՄԱԿ-ի Խոշտանգումների դեմ կոմիտեի քարտուղար Պատրիս Ժիլբերի եւ ՄԱԿ-ի Մարդու իրավունքների հանձնակատարի Ամերիկայի, Եվրոպայի եւ Կենտրոնական Ասիայի գրասենյակի ղեկավար Ջիաննի Մագազզենիի հետ: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին Մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանի աշխատակազմից: 

Հանդիպումների ընթացքում քննարկվել են Հայաստանում Մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանի՝ որպես կանխարգելման ազգային մեխանիզմի կարողությունների զարգացման, գործունեության արդյունավետության բարձրացման ուղղությամբ համատեղ ծրագրերը: Միաժամանակ, ուշադրություն է դարձվել խոշտանգման եւ վատ վերաբերմունքի մյուս ձեւերի կանխարգելման, այդ ոլորտում Մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանի գործունեության հետ կապված հարցերին: 

Արման Թաթոյանը ներկայացրել է նաեւ սահմանադրական եւ օրենսդրական նոր լուծումները, ինչպես նաեւ Պաշտպանի կանխարգելիչ դերի ուժեղացման անհրաժեշտությունը: 

Կողմերը երկուստեք կարեւորել են նաեւ ազատությունից զրկման վայրերում վատ վերաբերմունքի կանխարգելմանն ուղղված գործունեության ընթացքում քաղաքացիական հասարակության կազմակերպությունների եւ զանգվածային լրատվության միջոցների ներկայացուցիչների հետ ակտիվ համագործակցությունը, ինչպես նաեւ նաեւ հատուկ զեկույցներով վերհանված հարցերը ներկայացնելու անհրաժեշտությունը:
