 Գերմանիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարարության նոր ղեկավար կարող Է դառնալ Մարտին Շուլցն այն բանից հետո, երբ նրա կուսակից Ֆրանկ Վալտեր Շտայնմայերը կընտրվի երկրի նախագահի պաշտոնում: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, նոյեմբերի 15-ին գրում Է  Die Welt թերթը: Հրատարակության տվյալներո՝ հենց Շուլցն Է գերմանական դիվանագիտության ղեկավարի պաշտոնի «առավել հավանական թեկնածուն»:

«Նոյեմբերի 14-ին Գերմանիայի սոցիալ-դեմոկրատական կուսակցության նախագահ Զիգմար Գաբրիելը՝ Շուլցի ընկերը, այդ հարցի պատասխանը չտվեց, բայց կուսակցությունում ակնկալում են, որ հենց Շուլցը կգլխավորի ԱԳ նախարարությունը»,-հայտնել Է հրատարակությունը՝ հղում անելով իր աղբյուրներին: Նրա հետ կարող Է մրցակցել միայն Բունդեսթագում ԳՍԴԿ-ի խմբակցության ղեկավար Թոմաս Օպերմանը: Սակայն նման սցենարը քիչ հավանական Է, նշում Է հրատարակությունը:

Նոյեմբերի 14-ին ՔԴՄ-ի, ՔՍՄ-ի եւ ԳՍԴԿ-ի ղեկավարները՝ Անգելա Մերկելը, Հորսթ Զեեհոֆերը եւ Զիգմար Գաբրիելը պայմանավորվել են Շտայնմայերին առաջադրել Գերմանիայի նախագահի պաշտոնի թեկնածու: 2017 թվականի փետրվարի 12-ին կգումարվի Դաշնային ժողով՝ քվեարկելու պետության նոր ղեկավարի թեկնածության շուրջ: Ինչպես ենթադրվում Է, մինչ այդ Շտայնմայերը կպահպանի արտաքին քաղաքական գերատեսչության ղեկավարի պաշտոնը, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
