ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ ընտրված Դոնալդ Թրամփը հրաժարվում Է աշխատավարձից, որն ստանում են երկրի բարձրագույն պետական պաշտոնն զբաղեցնող անձինք: Այս մասին հանրապետականը հայտարարել Է CBS հեռուստաընկերությանը տված հարցազրույցի ժամանակ, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը:
«Ես երբեք մեկնաբանություններ չեմ տվել այդ առիթով, բայց պատասխանը «ոչ» Է,- ասել Է Թրամփը:- Կարծում եմ՝ օրենքով ինձ հարկ կլինի ընդունել 1 դոլար, ուստի ես տարեկան 1 դոլար կստանամ»:
Հանրապետականը խոստովանել Է, որ չգիտի, թե որքան Է ստանում Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահը: Հեռուստաընկերության լրագրողուհին հայտնել Է, որ Սպիտակ տան տիրոջ աշխատավարձը կազմում Է տարեկան 400 հազար դոլար: «Ես չեմ ընդունի աշխատավարձը, ես այն չեմ ընդունի»,- կրկնել Է Թրամփը:
Forbes հանդեսի վերջին գնահատումներով, որոնք ներկայացվել են այս տարվա սեպտեմբերին՝ հանրապետականի կարողությունը կազմում Է 3,7 միլիարդ դոլար: Ինչպես նշում Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը, Թրամփը չի դառնա ԱՄՆ-ի առաջին նախագահը, որը հրաժարվել Է աշխատավարձից: Օրինակ՝ ավելի վաղ համանման կերպ են վարվել Ջոն Քենեդին եւ Հերբերտ Հուվերը:
