Բրիտանական Company Pictures հեռուստաընկերությունը մտադիր է Ռուսաստանի Անվտանգության դաշնային ծառայության նախկին աշխատակից Ալեքսանդր Լիտվինենկոյի գործի մասին 3-սերիանոց ֆիլմ նկարահանել: Այս մասին հայտնում է The Guardian-ը:
Ֆիլմը կնկարահանվի Մոսկվայում պարբերականի նախկին թղթակից Լյուկ Հադինգի «Շատ թանկարժեք թույն» գրքի հիման վրա: «Գիրքն իրավամբ հրաշալի գեղարվեստական ստեղծագործություն է, որը մոտ է իրական կյանքին եւ ընթերցվում է ինչպես Ջեյմս Բոնդի մասին պատմությունը»,- պարբերականը մեջբերել է Company Pictures-ի ղեկավար Ջուդի Կունիհանի խոսքը: Նա հավելել է, որ գրքում «միախառնված են համաշխարհային ուժերի տեղաբաշխումը, բրիտանացի դետեկտիվների համառ աշխատանքը, նաեւ ժողովրդավարության, խոսքի ազատության եւ իրավունքի գերակայության կարեւորությունը»:
Ռուսաստանի հատուկ ծառայությունների նախկին աշխատակից Ալեքսանդր Լիտվինենկոն, որը Մեծ Բրիտանիա էր փախել, 2006 թվականին բրիտանական քաղաքացիություն ստանալուց կարճ ժամանակ անց մահացել է: Լիտվինենկոյի ինքնազգացողությունը վատացել է Անդրեյ Լուգովի եւ Դմիտրի Կովտունի հետ հանդիպելուց եւ միասին թեյախմությունից հետո: Նրա մահից հետո փորձաքննությամբ պարզվել է, որ Լիտվինենկոյի օրգանիզմում ռադիոակտիվ պոլոնիում-210-ի զգալի քանակ է պարունակվել:
