ՆԱՏՕ-ն տագնապներ ունի, որ Դոնալդ Թրամը ԱՄՆ նախագահի պաշտոնում կկրճատի Եվրոպայում ամերիկյան զորակազմը: Այս մասին գրում է Spiegel-ը:
Պարբերականի տվյալներով՝ դա ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Յենս Սթոլթենբերգի շտաբի զեկույցում նշված սցենարներից մեկն է:
«Ոչ մի տեղ Թրամփի ընտրվելու պատճառով մտահոգությունն այնքան մեծ չէ, որքան ՆԱՏՕ-ում: Հիմա դաշինքը հետաձգում է գարնանը պլանավորված գագաթնաժողովը»,- գրում է թերթը:
Ամերիկյան զորքերը հետ կանչելու վախից բացի, Ստոլտենբերգի շտաբը դիտարկում է նաեւ մյուս հնարավոր սցենարները, մասնավորապես, Թրամփը կարող է չեղարկել Արեւելյան Եվրոպայում ամերիկյան զորքերի ռոտացիայի մասին համաձայնագիրը:
Առավել «բարենպաստ» սցենարը հիմնված կլինի այն բանի վրա, որ ԱՄՆ-ը ուղղակի եվրոպական երկրներից կպահանջի մեծացնել սեփական պաշտպանության ծախսերը:
Հենց այդ մասին էր միլիարդատերն ասել The New York Times-ին տված հարցազրույցում՝ նշելով, որ ՆԱՏՕ-ի շատ անդամներ «չեն վճարում հաշիվները»:
