ԵԱՀԿ-ն դատապարտել է մահապատիժը վերականգնելու մասին Էրդողանի հայտարարությունները

Ժողովրդավարական ինստիտուտների և մարդու իրավունքների հարցող ԵԱՀԿ գրասենյակի տնօրեն Մայքլ Ջորջ Լինքը խորին մտահոգություն է հայտնել Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի հայտարարությունների վերաբերյալ, որն առնչվում է երկրում մահապատժի վերականգնմանը: Այս մասին տեղեկացրին ԵԱՀԿ գրասենյակից:

«Նախագահ Էրդողանի` երկրում մահապատիժը վերականգնելու պատրաստակամությունը տագնապեցնում է` հաշվի առնելով, որ ԵԱՀԿ երկրների մեծ մասը ճանաչել են դրա կիրառման դաժանությունը, անմարդկայնությունը և ստորացնող բնույթը: Կյանքի կոչելու փոխարեն` ես կոչ եմ անում Թուրքիայի իշխանություններին կողմ հանդես գալ մահապատժի գլոբալ վերացմանը, ինչպես արել են նախկինում»,- նշել է Լինքը:

Նա հիշեցրել է` ԵԱՀԿ երկրները համաձայնության են եկել այն հարցում, որ ոչ մի հանգամանք, անկախ նրանից, թե դա կլինի պատերազմական վիճակ կամ պատերազմի սպառնալիք, ներքին քաղաքական անկայունություն կամ ցանկացած այլ արտակարգ դրություն, չի կարող օգտագործվել` արդարացնելու բռնության կիրառումը:

Թուրքիայի նախագահ Էրդողանը օրերս հայտարարություն էր արել, որում ասել էր. «Մահապատիժը մոտ է, մի անհանգստացեք, փառք Աստծո, մոտ է: Մեր կառավարությունը դա կբերի խորհրդարան: Ես հավատացած եմ, որ առաջարկը կանցնի խորհրդարանում, իսկ երբ գա ինձ մոտ, ես դրան հավանություն կտամ: Կարևոր չէ, թե Արևմուտքն ինչ է ասում, կարևոր է, թե իմ ժողովուրդն ինչ է ասում»:
