 Իրաքյան բանակի ստորաբաժանումները նոյեմբերի 1-ին մտել են Մոսուլ: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, իրադարձությունների վայրից հայտնել Է BBC բրիտանական հեռուստառադիոկորպորացիայի թղթակիցը: Նրա տվյալներով՝ «Իսլամական պետության» զինյալները կատաղի դիմադրություն են ցույց տալիս:

Այսօր ավելի վաղ ԱՄՆ-ի գլխավորած միջազգային կոալիցիայի ինքնաթիռները ԻՊ-ի ահաբեկիչների դիրքերին հարվածներ են հասցրել Մոսուլի արվարձաններում: Մասնավորապես, ինչպես նշում Է «Ինտերֆաքս»-ը, գրոհի են ենթարկվել ԻՊ-ի զինյալների օբյեկտները Գոջալիի շրջանում՝ քաղաքից արեւելք:

Իր հերթին «Աս Սումարիա» հեռուստաալիքը, հղում անելով աղբյուրի, հայտնել Է, որ Իրաքի ռազմաօդային ուժերի ավիահարվածով Մոսուլում ոչնչացվել Է «Իսլամական պետության» հետ կապված «Ջունդ ալ Խիլյաֆա»-ի («Խալիֆայության զինվորներ») պարագլուխներից մեկը:

«Իրաքի ռազմաօդային ուժերի ինքնաթիռներին հաջողվել Է Մոսուլի կենտրոնում ԻՊ-ի շտաբներից մեկին հասցված ավիահարվածի արդյունքում ոչնչացնել այսպես կոչված «Ջունդ ալ Խիլյաֆա»-ի պարագլխին՝ որպես Աբու Թարիք ալ Խայալի հայտնի ահաբեկչին»,-հայտարարել Է աղբյուրը, նշելով, որ ոչնչացվել են նաեւ նրան ուղեկցող յոթ զինյալներ:

Իրաքի կառավարությունը հոկտեմբերի 11-ին հայտարարել Է երկրի՝ մեծությամբ երկրորդ քաղաքի՝ Մոսուլի վրա հարձակում սկսելու մասին, որը 2014 թվականից գտնվում Է ԻՊ-ի զինյալների հսկողության ներքո: Գործողությունն իրականացնում են իրաքյան բանակը, քրդական աշխարհազորի ջոկատները, նրանց աջակցում Է ԻՊ-ի դեմ ԱՄՆ-ի գլխավորած միջազգային կոալիցիան:
