Բրյուսելում տեղի ունեցած գագաթնաժողովում Եվրամիությունը եւ Կանադան ազատ առեւտրի մասին (CETA) համաձայնագիր են ստորագրել: Այս մասին հայտնում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
Փաստաթղթով նախատեսվում կողմերի միջեւ մաքսատուրքերի 99 տոկոսի չեղարկում, այն ուժի մեջ կմտնի մինչեւ Կանադայի եւ ԵՄ 28 երկրների խորհրդարանների կողմից վավերացումը:
СЕТА-ն ԵՄ-ում դիտարկվում է որպես Եվրամիության եւ ԱՄՆ-ի միջեւ ավելի ծավալուն ազատ առեւտրի համաձայնագրի (TTIP) նախատիպ: Այս համաձայնագրի շուրջ բանակցությունները դադարել էին Եվրոպայում դիմադրության պատճառով: Մասնավորապես՝ համաձայնագիրն առաջացրել էր եվրոպացի ֆերմերների վրդովմունքը, որոնց մտահոգում է ԱՄՆ ագրոարդյունաբերական համալիրի մրցակցությունը:
Համաձայնագրի դեմ են հանդես գալիս նաեւ ԱՄՆ նախագահի պաշտոնի երկու թեկնածուներ Հիլարի Քլինթոնը եւ Դոնալդ Թրամփը:
СЕТА-ի ստորագրումը գրեթե մեկ ամիս արգելափակել էր Բելգիայի ֆրանսիախոս Վալոնիա շրջանը: Սակայն հոկտեմբերի 27-ին Բելգիայի դաշնային կառավարությունը եւ Եվրամիությունը կարողացան տեղական իշխանություններին համոզել հանել իրենց առարկությունները:
