Հայաստանը և Բելառուսը կհամագործակցեն ատոմային էներգիայի խաղաղ օգտագործման բնագավառում: Ազգային ժողովը քննարկում է  «2016թ. փետրվարի 19-ին Երևանում ստորագրված ՀՀ կառավարության և Բելառուսի կառավարության միջև ատոմային էներգիայի խաղաղ օգտագործման բնագավառում համագործակցության մասին համաձայնագիրը» վավերացնելու մասին հարցը: Հիմնական զեկուցողը՝ ՀՀ էներգետիկ ենթակառուցվածքների և բնական պաշարների նախարարի տեղակալ Արեգ Գալստյանն ընդգծեց, որ ատոմային էներգիայի խաղաղ օգտագործման ոլորտում Հայաստանի հետ համաձայնագիր ստորագրելու առաջարկը ստացվել է բելառուսական կողմից 2012թ.:

«Հայաստանի և Բելառուսի կառավարությունների միջև ատոմային էներգիայի բնագավառում համագործակցության մասին համաձայնագիրը ստորագրվել է 2016թ.: Համաձայնագիրը կողմերին հնարավորություն կտա համագործակցել իրենց երկրների տարածքներում ատոմային էներգաբլոկների կառուցման, դրանց անվտանգ շահագործման և տեխնիկական ցուցանիշների բարելավման, ռադիոակտիվ թափոնների վերամշակման և պահպանման, միջուկային և ճառագայթային անվտանգության և շրջակա միջավայրի պահպանության, բժշկության, արդյունաբերության և գյուղատնտեսության բնագավառներում միջուկային նյ ութերի և տեխնոլոգիաների կիրառման, փորձի փոխանակման, կադրերի վերապատրաստման բնագավառներում, գիտության և տեխնիկայի բնագավառում հիմնարար և կիրառական հետազոտությունների զարգացման, ինչպես նաև հասարակությանն ատոմային էներգիայի օգտագործմանը տեղեկացնելու հարցերում»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ ասաց Գալստյանը:

Համաձայնագրով նախատեսվում է, որ երկու երկրների համագործակցությունն ուղղված կլինի ատոմային էներգիայի օգտագործմանը միայն խաղաղ նպատակներով: Համագործակցության իրականացման ընթացքում երկու երկրները առաջնորդվելու են ՄԱԿ-ի 1968թ. հուլիսի 1-ի «Միջուկային զենքը չտարածելու մասին» պայմանագրի սկզբունքներով: Կողմերը պարտավորվում են փոխանցվող սարքավորումները, նյութերը և երկակի նշանակության տեխնոլոգիաները չօգտագործել միջուկային պայթուցիկ սարքավորումների հետ կապված գործունեության մեջ և չվերաարտահանել այդ առարկաները երրորդ երկրներ՝ աանց մյուս կողմի գրավոր համաձայնության:
