Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը հոկտեմբերի 26-ին «Մերիդիան» ցուցահանդեսային կենտրոնում հանդիպում է ունեցել Քիմբերլիի գործընթացի նախագահ, Արաբական Միացյալ Էմիրությունների ներկայացուցիչ Ահմեդ Բին Սուլայեմի հետ, ով մեր երկրում է գտնվում հոկտեմբերի 24-28-ը Երևանում անցկացվող Ոսկերիչների համաշխարհային համադաշնության ՍԻԲՋՕ-ի ամենամյա համաժողովի շրջանակներում: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»- ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից:
Հանրապետության Նախագահը ողջունել է հյուրին մեր երկրում և հույս հայտնել, որ պարոն Ահմեդ Բին Սուլայեմի այցը Հայաստան կնշանավորվի ինչպես Քիմբերլիի գործընթացի շրջանակներում համա-գործակցության ամրապնդման, այնպես էլ, հաշվի առնելով նրա հարուստ փորձը ԱՄԷ-ում ադամանդագործության և ոսկեգործության ոլորտում, երկկողմ փոխշահավետ գործարար ծրագրերի նախանշման և իրականացման հարցում: Նախագահի համոզմամբ, այս առումով Ոսկերիչների համաշխարհային համադաշնության համաժողովի անցկացումը Երևանում լավ հնարավորություններ է ստեղծում:
Սերժ Սարգսյա նը կարևորել է Քիմբերլիի գործընթացը՝ որպես աշխարհում, այսպես կոչված, «կոնֆլիկտային» կամ «արյունոտ» ալմաստների շրջանառությունը բացառելու նպատակով միջազգային ջանքերի համախմբման ու մասնակից երկրների կողմից հանձնառության վառ օրինակ, ընդգծելով, որ գործընթացի կարևորությունը մեծանում է հատկապես մեր օրերում, երբ աշխարհում ավելացել են հակամարտություններն ու լարվածության նոր օջախները: ՀՀ Նախագահը ցավալի է համարել, որ բնական պաշարները մարդիկ օգտագործում են ոչ թե ի շահ, այլ ի վնաս:
Սերժ Սարգսյանը նշել է, որ Հայաստանը 2003 թվականից միանալով Քիմբերլիի գործընթացին, որը մեր երկրին հնարավորություն է ընձեռել լինել ալմաստների համաշխարհային շուկայի լիիրավ մասնակից, հետևողական է գործընթացի շրջանակներում հանձնառությունների իրականացման հարցում:
Քիմբերլիի գործընթացի նախագահը նշել է, որ Հայաստան է ժամանել նաև որպես Դուբայի առևտրային համայնքի ներկայացուցիչ և ցանկություն ունի Հայաստանի կառավարության հետ քննարկելու ինչպես Քիմբերլիի գործընթացի, այնպես էլ հայ-էմիրաթական առևտրատնտեսական կապերի ամրապնդմանն ուղղված հարցեր:
