Հայաստանյան հասարակական, քաղաքական, լրատվական ու ընդհանրապես երկրի կյանքին վերաբերող ցանկացած ոլորտում ամենաչարչրկված, շահարկված ու հենց դրա հետևնքով էլ իր նշանակությունն ու իմաստը կորցրած բառը բարեփոխումն է։ Ամեն քայլափոխի մենք հանդիպում ենք կառավարության բարեփոխման, ընտրական  կամ որևէ այլ օրենսգրքի բարեփոխման, Սահմանադրության բարեփոխման և այդպես շարունակ։ Եթե փորձենք հետևել այն բարեփոխումների շղթային, որոնց մասին հայտարարվում է, ապա ակամայից պետք է կարծենք, որ ապրում ենք ամենաբարեփոխված, ամենաբարեկեցիկ պայմաններում, սակայն դա այդպես չէ, և դա  յուրաքանչյուրս ենք զգում մեր մաշկի վրա։

Այստեղ արդեն շատ տրամաբանական հարց է առաջանում: Միգուցե մենք ավելի շատ խոսում ենք բարեփոխվելու և բարեփոխումների մասին, իսկ գուցեայդ բառը շատ բարեհունչ է, և պաշտոնյաները չեն կարողանում հրաժարվել դրանից։ Դժվար խնդիր է։ Ընդհանրապես բառերն ու եզրույթները որոշակի մոգական ուժ ունեն, պատահական չէ, որ դեռևս անտիկ շրջանից լավ հռետորները հսկայական իշխանություն են ունեցել հասարակական տրամադրությունների վրա, հաճախ ուղղորդել դրանք ու կառավարել։

Բայց հռետորությունն ունի իր կանոնը՝ երբեք անտեղի չխաղալ բառերի հետ, քանի որ հաճախակի կրկնվող խոսքը կորցնում է իր ուժը, իմաստն ու ազդեցությունը։ Մոտավորապես նույն ճակատագրին է արժանացել նաև «բարեփոխում» բառը։ Վերջինս այնքան հաճախ է օգտագործվում այս կամ այն իրողությունը, երևույթը կամ պարզունակ կադրային նշանակումը բնորոշելու համար, որ կորցրել է իր բովանդակությունը։ Ավելին,  այդ բառն արդեն սկսել է հակառակ ազդեցությունն ունենալ և ավելի շատ անվստահություն է առաջացնում։

Ի դեպ, այս երևույթը վերաբերում է շատ կրկնվող ու շահարկվող բոլոր թեմաներին։ Նույն այս տրամաբանությամբ անտանելի են դառնում հասարակական-քաղաքական դաշտում իշխանությանն ուղղված ներբողները, սակայն ոչ պակաս անտանելի են նույն այդ իշխանությանն ուղղված  քննադատություններն ու հայհոյանքները, որոնք բազմիցս կրկնվելով կորցրել են իրենց բուն նշանակությունն ու ազդեցությունը։
