Ամենամեծ հալածանքներից մեկը տեղի է ունեցել հայ ժողովրդի նկատմամբ, և հայերին հետապնդել են միայն քրիստոնյա լինելու համար։ Այդ մասին հայտարարել է Հռոմի պապ Ֆրանցիսկոսը երկուշաբթի օրը մատուցած պատարագի ժամանակ, գրում է radiovaticana.va-ն։

Հռոմի պապը երկուշաբթի առավոտյան պատարագ է մատուցել Կիլիկիայի նորընտիր պատրիարք Գրիգոր Պիեռ Գաբրոյանի հետ Սանտա Մարթա բնակավայրում գտնվող մատուռում։

Հռոմի պապն անդրադարձել է մեր օրերում քրիստոնյաների հալածանքներին՝ նշելով, որ դա տեղի է ունենում գերտերությունների հանցակից լռությամբ։

Անգամ այսօր, գուցե ավելի շատ, քան հին ժամանկներում, քրիստոնյաները հալածվում են, սպանվում, վտարվում քրիստոնյա լինելու համար, ասել է նա:

«Այսօր նույնպես դա տեղի է ունենում ողջ աշխարհում շատ առաջնորդների հանցակից լռությամբ, ովքեր կարող էին դա դադարեցնել»,- ասել է Ֆրանցիսկոս պապը:

Նա հիշել է, որ ամենամեծ հալածանքներից մեկը տեղի է ունեցել հայ ժողովրդի նկատմամբ:

«Առաջին ժողովուրդը, որ քրիստոնեություն է ընդունել։ Նրանք հետապնդման են ենթարկվել պարզապես քրիստոնյա լինելու համար: Հայ ժողովուրդը հետապնդվել է, քշվել իր հայրենիքից՝ անօգնական, անապատում»,- ասել է Հռոմի պապը:

Նա ողջունելով հայ պատրիարքին, հավատացյալ հայ ժողովրդին և հոգևորականներին՝ նշել է, որ ցանկանում է հիշել հայ ժողովրդի նկատմամբ հալածանքները և այն սրբերին, որոնք մահացել են սովից, ցրտից, խոշտանգումներից՝ միայն քրիստոնյա լինելու համար: Հռոմի պապն իր աղոթքի վերջում խնդրել է Աստծուն բոլորին այն ուժով օժտել, որ ցույց են տվել քրիստոնյա նահատակները և հատկապես հայ քրիստոնյաները:
